The Odyssey Storytelling Podcast

Feb 16, 2018

The Odyssey Storytelling Podcast returns to the "Labor" show from January 2017, this time with a different -- and dual -- connotation: the work of having a baby. Montserrat Caballero tells the story of how the experience of pregnancy and giving birth showed her that successful labor, so many other things, relies on community. From her Odyssey bio:

Montserrat Caballero is a community volunteer and activist.  She is a member of the Cesar E. Chavez Holiday Coalition, Las Adelitas Political Pac, groups focused on sexual violence, and sits on the Borderlands Theater Board.  She is also heavily involved in the Carrillo K-5 Creative Arts and Communication Magnet PTO, where her son is a second grader.  She recently joined the Flowers and Bullets Advisory Committee and is looking forward to working with this group to develop a vibrant community space at the school they recently acquired from TUSD.  She currently works in the PCC Adult Basic Education for College and Career Division.

This episode was performed and recorded in front of a live audience at The Screening Room on January 5th, 2017, and was curated by Jen Nowicki Clark. For more information about Odyssey Storytelling, please visit www.odysseystorytelling.com
